On a sandy beach at the ocean, outgoing tide strands a group of shells in the sand, iridescent in the sunset

Growing up, I don't remember learning how to draw......I just always did. After a 20+ year sabbatical from art I began painting again in 2006 and have been "painting the light" ever since, focusing on contemporary landscape as my subject of choice. Most of my work is soft pastels and I have studied with noted pastel artists
Terry Ludwig, Richard McKinley, Dawn Emerson, Desmond O'Hagan, Stan Sperlak, and Marla Baggetta to further my understanding of this wonderful medium.
